Who we are

One Less Thing Inc. is a Nebraska-based disability financial literacy company. This policy applies to the website onelessthing.us and our newsletter. We are the data controller for information collected through these services.

What we collect

Newsletter subscribers

If you sign up for our newsletter, we collect your email address. Our newsletter is hosted by Beehiiv. When you subscribe, your email is stored in Beehiiv's systems and subject to their privacy policy. We use your email only to send you the newsletter. We will never sell it or share it with third-party advertisers.

Website analytics

We use basic, privacy-focused analytics to understand how people use the site — things like which pages are visited and roughly where traffic comes from. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes. We do not build profiles of individual visitors.

Contact email

If you email us directly, we receive your email address and the content of your message. We use this only to respond to you. We do not add you to any mailing list without your consent.

What we don't collect

We do not collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, medical records, or any other sensitive personal or financial data. This is a content and newsletter site — there is no account system and no financial transactions.

How we use your information

We use data we collect to:

• Send the newsletter to people who signed up for it.
• Respond to messages you send us.
• Understand how the site is used so we can improve it.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any automated decision-making.

Who we share data with

We use the following third-party services:

• Beehiiv — Newsletter hosting. Stores subscriber email addresses. Privacy policy.
• GitHub Pages — Website hosting. May log standard server access data (IP addresses, browser type). Privacy policy.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to any third party. We will disclose information if required by law.

How long we keep data

Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us directly to be removed: hayden@onelessthing.us.

Email correspondence is retained only as long as needed to resolve your inquiry.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you. To make a request, email hayden@onelessthing.us. We will respond within 30 days.

Nebraska residents: this policy is consistent with Nebraska data protection practices. If you have questions about your rights under Nebraska law, please contact us.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will post the updated version here and update the "last updated" date. We won't notify newsletter subscribers of routine updates, but we will notify you of significant changes that affect how we use your data.
